Ok, so I think it’s pretty obvious I’m gonna try to make this a daily blog and some people won’t like alot of things I say but no matter. See everyone, I’m one of these guys that when I’m wrong, I’ll say I’m wrong. Granted I only watched like the last hour of play today during the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills, but never the less it didn’t disappoint. I was once again put on the edge of my seat with anticipation watching Padrig Harrington, Sergio Garcia, and Ben Curtis duel it out. These three made a very very exciting last 4 holes of golf. So, without further adue this will probably be the first and last time everyone witnesses this out of me, I WAS WRONG AND STAND CORRECTED.

So, apparently some of my “fans” of this blog decided that yesterday they weren’t to happy with my “opionion”. That’s humorous! Anyway, no matter, for those that claim with whatever undying critisism of me that I’m not a golf fan consider this, yesterday at a golf course I asked what had to be twenty men between the ages of 20 - 60 who was on the leaderboard for the PGA Championship, not one of which could give me even the top 5 names. Which, by process of elimination would tell me that I’m not the only person who is not interested unless Tiger is playing. I am a true golf fan, I enjoy the game through my infinate wisdom and truly love watching it. It just seems a bit boring without #1 in the world, that’s all

Ok, ok, so I know I sound like nothing short of a Tiger enthusiast, but does anyone in the real world actually care about the last major golf tournament of the year without the world’s #1 golfer. I know I sure don’t. Golf has lost it’s flair for me this year do to the lack of the best golfer in the world. I certainly hope that golf is more exciting next year…………sorry, that’s all I’ve got ladies and gents. Enjoy!

Well everyone, I know you’ve all been waiting for my inaugural post on this site so today’s the day. I’ll start this out very simply about a very exciting and breathtaking series of days that happened just last weekend, that’s right the U.S. Open. As the biggest golf tournament of the year approached all the experts wondered who would be favored, Tiger Woods or the field. As a massive Tiger fan I was nothing less than flabergasted to see Andy North on ESPN give Tiger his full vote of confidence to win. But what no of us knew about Tiger Woods was the obvious fact that not six weeks prior to the Open, Tiger had orthoscopic surgery that would leave him nothing less than just a man, and not the god we had all made him to be. Of course Tiger proves us all wrong. After round 1, we all witnessed limping, slow walking, and the occasional winse of pain with the gritting of teeth. After round 2, his press conference was nothing short of just that, short. Refusing to give his ailing knee any attention. However, what even Tiger didn’t know was the extraordinary amount of pain he would endure during round 3. He stepped to almost every tee box expressionless, and left with nothing short of a grimmise. Approaching round 4, Tiger did one last interview again playing down his clearly ailing knee, making himself seem invincable once again. Then the unthinkable happened, with a 2 shot lead going into round 4, Tiger doubled the very first hole making him dead even with Rocco Mediate who seemed to be a very distant second in the minds of golf fans. As round 4 continued we saw the two men trade shots back and forth as if the were heavyweight boxers in the middle of a 12 round mele. Tiger would birdie, then bogie, the same for Rocco. Astonishingly, the day would end with nothing short of truly exciting performance by the two men, it quickly became a two-man race for the greatest championship in professoinal golf, a tie. An 18 hole playoff would occur on Monday, and with 20,000+ attending in La Jolla, CA, we witnessed the best golf that has ever been played. Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate!
Now as for this anxious sports fan, I couldn’t wait to see Tiger Woods win in stunning fashion leaving Rocco nothing but his pride. However, as we all know that never happened, we saw the most exciting and fearless golf that we have ever seen. As the two men battled back and forth again on Monday, it became stunningly clear that we have been watching more than golf over the last ten years watching Tiger Woods. It occured to me that we’ve all been watching history and not just that we’ve been watching a man who made the impossible very possible. As corny as it may sound, I realized watching this man for ten years has made me a better golfer. Thus proving the biggest cleshay of all, Tiger Woods inspires the uninspired.
